Why did we put so much effort towards a small part?
When our team of Engineers set out to develop Ride Shocks, the goal was to provide the absolute best shocks on the market. We achieved this by drawing on their decades of expertise in shock tuning at AccuTune Offroad. Through this experience, common shortcomings of traditional aftermarket shocks were meticulously identified and refined. One of the most significant limitations we identified was the diameter of the hose & fittings connecting the shock body to the external reservoir. After further testing, it was clear that larger hoses and fittings were an essential part of this new shock brand.

One more piece of the puzzle
Remote reservoir shocks offer several benefits, primarily improved heat dissipation and enhanced performance, by allowing for increased oil capacity and better cooling, which prevents shock fade and maintains consistent performance. In many aftermarket shock designs, the remote reservoir hose acts as a choke point, restricting the flow of oil between the shock body and the reservoir. This bottleneck directly impacts overall shock performance by limiting how efficiently the system can respond to rapid terrain changes. As a result, shocks struggle to absorb high-frequency vibrations and chatter, leading to a rougher, less controlled ride. Even with extensive shock tuning, this cannot be resolved.

Top priority for improvement
When designing Ride Shocks, addressing hose size became one of our top priorities in designing a superior shock absorber—one that delivers peak performance without inflating costs. The biggest competitors on the market use -6 & -8 hose & fittings on their shocks, while Ride Shocks come standard with -10 hose & fittings. This is about a 166% improvement in oil flow over -6 & 53% improvement in oil flow over -8.
While it might seem like a simple fix to just enlarge the hose or modify the fittings, the reality is that no one in the industry had successfully tackled this challenge before. There are significant space constraints on OEM vehicles that make fitting the larger hoses a significant challenge. In order to overcome these challenges Ride Shocks had to design custom hose fittings which allow for tighter packaging. Overcoming this challenge is one more way that Ride Shocks goes above and beyond industry standard in order to deliver the best available off-road shocks.

Resulting in significant improvements to ride quality
By engineering a solution that optimizes oil transfer, we’ve significantly improved shock response and ride quality, ensuring that offroaders experience a smoother, more controlled journey—even in the most demanding conditions. Ride Shocks isn’t just about making incremental improvements; it’s about redefining performance standards in the industry.

Summary
When paired with the DPA adjuster and high flow piston, the hose & fittings do their job to provide the best possible ride for your Bronco or Toyota. We are proud of the work that has gone into the development of this product line and we are continuously working to release shocks for new applications.
