The Tundra's TNGA platform uses unusually soft bushings in the control arms and link arms. Shocks valved soft enough to hide this bushing deflection ride well on pavement but introduce vibration and inconsistent bump response the moment you tune them stiff enough for off-road use. Ride Shocks addresses this at the source with a unique tuning methodology and purpose-built components — not just a softer valve — delivering a smoother ride with less vibration and genuine off-road performance, benchmarked against the other major shock brands we've tested.
COMPLETE STAGE KITS — EVERYTHING IN ONE BOX
Front 2.5" coilovers and rear 2.5" smoothbody shocks are engineered as a matched pair. Hybrid and non-hybrid Tundras get their own weight-range-specific configurations (2 front weight ranges, 3 rear weight ranges) to account for the added mass of the hybrid battery pack. Every kit ships with reservoir mounts; front kits add a sway bar spacer and skid plate spacers (not required on TRD Pro's factory red sway bar), while rear kits include brake line extension brackets — all installed with no-drill frame and reservoir mounts.
THE DPA ADJUSTER
Every Ride Shock is equipped with our Dual Piston Adjuster (DPA) — 12-click independent control of both high-speed and low-speed compression. Both adjusters ship fully open (softest setting). Turn low-speed up to reduce bounce over rolling hills. Turn high-speed up when hammering through whoops or running loaded with extra weight. Adjustments are hand-only — never use tools.
