2003-2024 4RUNNER | FAQs
How do I choose the correct shocks for my vehicle?
Each shock option is designed to work within a certain weight range and will include the ideal spring rate (for coilovers), main piston valving and adjuster valving to support that weight. In order to choose the best shock for your vehicle’s weight you will need to add up all the major accessories that add significant weight and match up to our options. Based on the added weight over stock, choose the correct shock that matches up with the added weight.
What does a stock 4Runner weigh?
The front and rear weights of Tacomas vary by generation and model. Below are two common vehicle model examples to reference.
What if my vehicles weight range is not on the shock fitment guide?
If you do not see shocks that suit your vehicles weight, please contact our sales professionals and we will do our best to accommodate your specific situation. [email protected]
What if my vehicle weight changes over the next year, can you re-valve them?
If your vehicle weight changes significantly, the shocks likely need to be revalved to accommodate the extra weight. In this situation, we are happy to take the shocks back and revalve them. Please see our Terms & Conditions for details.
Why does my 4Runners total weight matter when buying shocks?
Shocks are not a one size fits all. For the best comfort both on and off-road its necessary to match the correct spring rate to your vehicles total weight. The more you can tailor the shock to match a specific vehicle’s suspension, the better ride quality you will experience. If you’re looking for the ultimate ride quality, Ride Shocks is where its at.
How can I get my vehicle weighed professionally?
Cat scales are a great resource for getting the front and rear weight of your vehicle weighed. These cat scales are normally used for semi trucks with heavy loads, but can also be used for non-commercial use.
Will Ride Shocks fit my KDSS equipped vehicle?
